College of Health and Human Development / Month of Giving / April 1 - 30, 2020 / #HHDMonthofGiving - Standard Promotional Image

Due to recent disruptions caused by the coronavirus pandemic to university operations, the Month of Giving has been postponed. We appreciate your understanding during this period of uncertainty, and please check back here for updates about the rescheduling of this event.

Who does it impact?

  • Almost every major in the college requires undergraduates to participate in credit-bearing internships.
  • Internships provide exciting opportunities for building professional networks, collaborating with industry leaders, and exploring potential career paths.
  • But the costs can be daunting! Most are unpaid simply because many of our fields center on service-oriented sectors.
  • The Undergraduate Internship Enrichment Fund was created to help students defray internship-associated costs, which may include plane tickets, parking, cross-country travel, daily commuting, professional attire, and housing.

The internship funding that I have received from HHD has impacted my internship experience exponentially. As an out-of-state student, I have been able to put the scholarship funds towards my tuition costs for the semester.

The HHD Undergraduate Internship Enrichment Fund gave me an opportunity to gain insight into my future career as a Physician Assistant. At Allegheny Health Network, I worked with orthopedic and sports medicine doctors and physicians associated with the Pittsburgh Pirates and Riverhounds.
