Waking to smoke is a common phenomenon among cigarette smokers. New research by Steven Branstetter, associate professor of biobehavioral health, and Joshua Muscat, professor of public health sciences at the Penn State Cancer Institute, suggests that mental health might drive this behavior more than addiction.
