Research Interests
  • Study molecular link by which microbiota-derived metabolites regulate the development of chronic inflammatory disorders including inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, and metabolic syndrome.
  • Elucidate how gut microbiota and innate immunity shape the effects of refined fermentable fibers, commonly present in processed foods, on gastrointestinal and liver health.
  • Develop microbiome-informed dietary fiber interventions to improve digestive and metabolic health.
