Michael, with his family, relocated to Colorado from Ithaca, New York in 2023. Prior to his current position as Program Director through the University of Colorado Addiction Research and Treatment Services - Michael was a private practitioner working with those living with mood, substance use, and cognitive disorders. His practice was experiential in delivery with varied modalities and locations.   Michael obtained his undergraduate degree from Pennsylvania State University in Experiential Education with a focus on human service delivery and began working with outdoor schools and varied education programs.  He then obtained his Master of Social Work degree from The Greater Rochester Collaborative MSW program in Rochester, New York, where he began working with individuals living with traumatic brain injury and substance use disorders in many roles, including: case manager, community integration counselor, therapist, and clinical director. Michael has a love for trail running, hiking, backpacking, kayaking, and biking (gravel and mountain). If he is not traveling with his partner Jamie, their son JJ River and dog Stella Blue, reading, or attending live music, you can usually find him cooking and eating (mostly eating) in his kitchen.
