At Penn State’s College of Health and Human Development, our eight departments we offer a robust program of interdisciplinary fields of study representing a wide range of majors and minors to meet your unique professional and personal goals.

Our approach to undergraduate education provides students with great opportunities to combine their interests in health and life sciences, social and behavioral sciences, and management, business and leadership in unique ways. We emphasize three key features in all of our academic programs:

  • Personal : Even at a large school, we offer students the change to make their education personal through experiential courses and internships, the chance to do research or study abroad with faculty, and different ways majors can be combined with minors or opportunities for integrated graduate study.
  • Practical: Research, teaching and learning in HHD emphasize how we can use our knowledge to have a real impact on individuals and communities. Our undergraduates take the skills and knowledge they are learning and get to apply it in courses and through semester or summer internships, enhancing their learning and career opportunities.
  • Purposeful: Our goal is to make human life better, and our students not only have fantastic careers in their fields, they have work that is meaningful and fulfilling.
