Wen's research interest is in studying intraindividual differences in substance abuse recovery and how that may be predicted by characteristics in adolescence, as well as gaining a better understanding of the impacts of substance use on adolescent development.

Wen's current research interest is in studying intraindividual differences in substance abuse recovery and how that may be predicted by characteristics in adolescence. He is also interested in gaining a better understanding of the impacts of substance use on adolescent development. Specifically, examining the interaction between developing brain and executive cognitive functioning.
