Transdisciplinary Research on Environment and Society (TREES)

The TREES dual-title graduate degree program prepares student researchers and designers to bring a broad base of state-of-the-art methodologies, theories, and technologies for addressing contemporary natural resource and societal challenges, including but not limited to challenges related to the following:

  • global climate change
  • sustainable energy, food, and fiber supplies
  • threats to biodiversity
  • water pollution and availability
  • genetic modification
  • sustainable design

TREES's philosophical foundation embraces the premise that solutions to such challenges require the integration of biophysical, sociodemographic, sociocultural, and historical dimensions.

Prospective or current graduate students who share these interests and concerns are encouraged to explore the links below to learn more about the dual-title graduate degree program in Transdisciplinary Research on Environment and Society.
