Minors

As the world’s population continues to age and evolve, developing effective health policy will take on an increasingly important role in society.

By supporting students who want to explore opportunities in the health policy and health administration fields, the Health Policy and Administration Minor helps them gain the skills and knowledge needed to prepare for a career in the health care field or for future graduate study.

Through this minor, students interested in clinical fields such as nursing, physical therapy, biobehavioral health, or medicine can gain an understanding of the impact of business and government within their professions. The minor also helps students explore the various economic, sociological, psychological, and political aspects of health care — spanning initiatives ranging from insuring the uninsured, to regulating managed care, to reforming Medicare, and more.
