The Department of Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management at Penn State spearheads unique research initiatives in conjunction with exclusive industry partnerships and professional relationships that just don’t exist at other universities.

Our world-renowned research team is committed to developing an ever-expanding understanding of the social, environmental, psychological, and economic aspects of human behavior in relation to the experience and delivery of a broad array of leisure activities and pursuits. We engage with other faculty and industry professionals who share our passion for the field while uncovering relevant findings, taking part in experiential learning opportunities, and assuming an active ownership of continued discovery through our multifaceted research program.
