About HDFS Alumni Group

The HDFS Alumni Group is an Affiliate Program Group chartered by the College of Health of Human Development.   Affiliate Program Groups (APGs) are chartered by their college or campus alumni society. APGs are similar to societies, with the exception that this connection is focusing on the promotion and development of the academic department rather than the entire college or campus. Some APG activities include networking, mentoring, and student recruitment. An Affiliate Program Group (APG) consists of alumni or friends of Penn State who have a common interest in a particular academic, professional, or extracurricular activity that is related to a specific college or campus program.

The Human Development and Family Studies Alumni Group strives to serve the needs of HDFS alumni, students, and faculty; advocate, promote, and support professional development; and assist the College and University in enhancing the quality and visibility of the HDFS program.

We hope you find the information on this site to be useful and in line with the type of services the HDFS Alumni Group can provide. We certainly welcome your feedback and ideas for changes. We look forward to expanding the HDFS Alumni Group by connecting the thousands of alumni who have graduated with an education from HDFS. In addition, we hope to develop a network of alumni to participate in assisting with the education of current undergraduate and graduate students by providing career mentorship, intellectual networking, and possible internship experiences.

We encourage you to continue your support for the HDFS Alumni Group, the College of Health and Human Development, and Penn State.
