The College's Graduate Student Council is a group of student representatives from each of the academic units that meets on a monthly basis with the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Education. This group addresses a variety of issues facing graduate students and seeks to enhance the overall educational experience of their peers in the College.

Mission

The Council's purpose is clearly expressed in the Mission Statement:

  • To serve as a vehicle to enhance graduate student representation to the College.
  • To foster inter-departmental collaboration among students and faculty in research areas of mutual interest within the College.
  • To provide a mechanism for direct communication between department-selected graduate student representatives and College administration.
    • Formalize dialogue to represent the departments' graduate students' ideas and perspectives between the students and the Dean's Office within the College.
    • Assist college-level administration in programming, planning, and college-wide activities designed to meet the needs and further the development of faculty and staff.
